The Ural Turbine Works to Manufacture Equipment to Revamp the ArcelorMittal Temirtau's CHPP Turbine

The Ural Turbine Works (ROTEC Holding) has signed a contract with the Karaganda Turbo-mechanical Plant (KTMZ) for replacement high-pressure section of the Т-100-130 turbine operated at ArcelorMittal Temirtau's CHPP. It will be the first stage of the turbine revamping. The KTMZ will serve as a general contractor for this project.

Revamping the Т-100-130 will include full recovery of the turbine's fleet life and installation of the new up-to-date electro-hydraulic control system produced by the KTMZ. As a result, turbine’s overall technical and economic performance will improve, providing for power capacity increase by 10 MW, as well as enhanced flexibility, reliability, and serviceability.

The UTW has already got to work: design and engineering stage is currently on the home stretch; equipment is scheduled to be manufactured and shipped to the customer by the beginning of 2020.

The KZTM is a leading Kazakhstan power engineering company specializing in repair and revamping of steam turbines. It is worth mentioning that the UTW has a long history of cooperation with the KZTM. Through the joint efforts, they implemented a number of projects for power plants in Russia and Kazakhstan.
