The Ural Turbine Works Has Signed a Contract for Delivery of Two Turbines for Severodvinsk

The Ural Turbine Works (ROTEC holding) has signed the contract for delivery of two turbines PT-30/40-8.8/1.3 for Severodvinsk TPP-1 (TGC-2 PJSC). The first turbine will be manufactured by January of 2020, the second by March of the same year. Condensers will be shipped to the Customer earlier - in December of 2019.

TGC-2 is re-equipping Severodvinsk TPP-1 which is the oldest plant in the region. It implies replacement of the overaged turbines with up-to-date and efficient equipment. Putting new power units into operation envisages improvement of the reliability of energy, heat, and industrial steam supply to the consumers in Severodvinsk - a city with an official State Russian Center of Nuclear Shipbuilding status. Severodvinsk TPP-1 directly supplies energy to industrial enterprises such as Sevmash, Zvyozdochka, Severny Reid, SPO Arktika, as well as residential areas of the city.

Turbines PT-30/40 will be developed based on turbines of the PT-30 series made by UTW in due time for Nevinnomysskaya GRES and Uralvagonzavod. Moreover, the design of flow path will be improved and the capacity of the units  will be increased. The turbines will be equipped with up-to-date control systems, as well as all required equipment for connection with PRANA Predictive Analytics and Remote Monitoring System.


TGC-2 PSC is the largest heat and energy provider in Central and Northwestern Federal Districts of Russia. It was established in April of 2005 during reforming of RAO UES of Russia. It produces power and heat energy. The enterprises of the company are located in Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Kostroma, Novgorod, and Yaroslav Regions. The plant’s production assets of the Company include 12 TPPs, eight boiler rooms, and four heating providers. It supplies energy to over 2.7 million people.
